Terms of use
The short version: this is general information, not advice, and the calculators are estimates. Verify anything consequential with the authority that administers it.
1. Acceptance
By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. These terms are between you and JOONHEE SHIN ("we", "us").
2. Information only — not professional advice
Everything on this site is general information about how Korean systems work. It is not:
- Legal advice, and does not create a lawyer-client relationship.
- Immigration advice. We are not registered immigration advisers in any jurisdiction.
- Tax advice. We are not licensed tax accountants (세무사).
- Financial advice.
For anything with consequences — a visa application, a tax filing, an employment dispute, a property contract — consult a qualified professional and confirm with the administering authority. The relevant authorities are linked from every page that discusses their subject matter.
3. The calculators are estimates
The visa eligibility checker, F-2-7 point calculator, tax calculator, address romanizer and name converter are rule-based tools that apply published rules to the inputs you give them. They:
- Cannot see your documents, your employer's standing, or the annual quota an immigration office is working to.
- May be based on a version of a rule that has since been superseded. Each carries a review date; check it.
- Do not model every deduction, exemption or special case that a real tax return or visa application involves.
- Produce an indication, not a decision. No output from this site binds any authority, and no authority is obliged to agree with it.
Relying on a calculator output instead of verifying with the relevant authority is a decision you make at your own risk.
4. No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, currency, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Korean immigration, tax and social insurance rules change frequently and often without advance notice.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or anything on it — including without limitation a visa refusal, a tax underpayment or overpayment, a penalty, a missed deadline, or a misdelivered parcel. This applies whether the claim is in contract, tort, statute or otherwise, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such loss.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
6. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Scrape, mirror or bulk-download the site or its data files for republication.
- Present the site's content as your own, or as official government information.
- Attempt to interfere with the site's operation or security.
- Use the site in a way that breaks any applicable law.
Ordinary personal use — reading, printing a checklist, using a calculator, sharing a link — is expressly permitted and encouraged.
7. Intellectual property
The written content, design and code of this site are ours and are protected by copyright. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link. You may not reproduce whole pages.
The underlying facts — tax rates, point values, statutory requirements — are Korean government information and are not claimed as our property. Our arrangement, explanation and presentation of them is.
8. Third-party links and advertising
We link to Korean government sites, banks, service providers and other third parties for your convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices. A link is not an endorsement.
The site carries display advertising. Advertisements are selected by the ad network, not by us, and their presence is not an endorsement of the advertiser.
9. Changes
We may amend these terms. The review date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have where you live.
11. Contact
