Who we are

This site is operated by JOONHEE SHIN, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea. For any privacy question, contact [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.

As the operator is based in the Republic of Korea, this site is subject to the Personal Information Protection Act (개인정보 보호법) in addition to the GDPR obligations described below, and the contact above is the identified privacy officer for the purposes of that Act.

The calculators do not collect anything

This is the part that matters most and it is worth being precise about. The visa eligibility checker, the F-2-7 point calculator, the tax calculator, the address romanizer and the name converter all run entirely as JavaScript in your own browser.

  • Your salary, your visa status, your address and your name are never transmitted to our servers.
  • We do not have a server that receives them. The site is static files.
  • Form inputs are saved to your browser's localStorage so a half-finished calculation survives a page reload. That data never leaves your device and is deleted when you clear your browser data.

The single exception is the optional official address lookup on the address romanizer. It is disabled unless the deployment is configured with an address API key, and when enabled it sends only the search term you type to the Korean address information service. The page tells you when it is active.

What is collected automatically

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard web server information: IP address, browser type and version, the page requested, referring page, and timestamp. This is used for security and to diagnose faults. Retention follows the hosting provider's policy.

Advertising — Google AdSense

This site is supported by display advertising served through Google AdSense.

  • Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You may opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.com.
  • Google's practices are described in the Google Privacy & Terms.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may show our ads on other sites and use cookies to do so. We do not control what those vendors collect.

Analytics

Analytics in use on this site: none.

Where that is none, no analytics script runs and no usage data is collected by us at all — the advertising cookies described above are the only third-party tracking present. Where an analytics service is named, it collects pseudonymous usage data: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser. IP anonymisation is enabled. If that service is Google Analytics you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Most browsers let you block cookies entirely or per-site. Blocking advertising cookies does not affect any of the tools on this site — they do not use cookies at all.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK

Under the GDPR, our legal basis for processing is legitimate interest for security logging and site operation, and consent for personalised advertising and analytics cookies. Where consent is required, a consent management platform will request it before those cookies are set, and you may withdraw consent at any time.

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Have your data erased.
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Data portability.
  • Lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

Contact [email protected] to exercise any of these.

If you are in California

Under the CCPA and CPRA you may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected, request deletion, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — which, in the CCPA's broad definition, includes the use of advertising cookies. We do not sell personal information for money. To opt out of personalised advertising, use the Google Ads Settings link above or contact us.

If you are in Korea

Under the Personal Information Protection Act (개인정보 보호법) you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and may suspend its processing. Contact [email protected]. Complaints may also be made to the Personal Information Protection Commission or the Korea Internet & Security Agency privacy call centre on 118.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and it will be deleted.

We link extensively to Korean government sites and other third parties. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because the tools do not transmit your input, the most sensitive category of data on this site simply never exists on any server — which is a deliberate design decision, not an accident.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected in the review date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
