Corrections are the most useful thing you can send. For anything urgent about your own case, the official helplines below will help you faster than we can.

We read everything. We aim to reply within a few working days, and we prioritise in this order:

  1. Corrections — something on the site is wrong or out of date.
  2. Gaps — a process we do not cover that you had to work out the hard way.
  3. General feedback on the tools or the writing.

Sending a correction

The most useful correction includes three things, and takes about a minute to write:

  • The page URL.
  • What is wrong, quoted exactly.
  • A link to the authority that says otherwise — HiKorea, the NTS, NHIS, or the relevant statute.

Corrections with a source get made the same week. Corrections without one still get investigated, but they take longer because we have to find the source ourselves. Either way the fix is written up in the corrections log, so you can see what happened to what you sent.

What we cannot do

We cannot advise on your individual case. That is not modesty about our knowledge — it is that immigration, tax and employment outcomes turn on documents and facts we cannot see, and getting it wrong has real consequences for you.

Specifically, we cannot:

  • Tell you whether your visa application will be approved.
  • Review your documents.
  • Calculate your actual tax liability or file anything on your behalf.
  • Intervene with an employer, a landlord or a government office.
  • Recommend a specific lawyer, accountant or agency.

Free professional help

There is more free assistance available to foreign residents in Korea than most people realise, and using it is normal rather than exceptional:

  • Multicultural family support centres (다문화가족지원센터) — in every region, and not only for married couples. Free counselling, interpretation and administrative help.
  • Foreign workers' support centres — free labour and legal advice, run with government funding.
  • Korea Legal Aid Corporation — free or low-cost legal help for people below an income threshold.
  • Global centres run by Seoul, Busan and other metropolitan governments — free consultations on visas, housing and employment.
  • Your university's international office, if you are a student. They handle these problems constantly.
